Good afternoon, thank you for coming. Can you introduce yourself to start? Good afternoon, Marija Krajina, I am 41 years old from Temerin...

We are here today to talk about SEGOVI, so could you please tell us at the beginning why you decided to choose our program?

I decided to choose this program because my antimüllerian hormone was very low, and at the previous clinic where I was, the doctor tried everything she could, and suggested I go for egg donation or adoption. However, I couldn’t agree with that idea. Then I heard about the SEGOVA procedure on national television and that was when I first got informed.

How did you get to know the information about the program?

Well, I don’t know what to tell you. I wanted to try, but another issue was finances. After a year, when I came to an agreement with myself and when the finances lined up, I came to the professor for a checkup to see if I was even a candidate for it because I have systemic lupus and all that. So we did the checkup, agreed on everything, and I started the procedure.

Was it clear to you what would be done during the procedure?

Well, it was clear, but also unclear. There were a lot of technical terms, but in essence, it was clear. What was most important to me was ovarian rejuvenation to reach the follicles. The problem I have is that we can’t reach the follicles, and when we do, they’re not big enough or mature enough to produce an egg cell or anything.

How did the professor and the team explain things to you?

They were perfect, really wonderful, they explained everything and helped as much as they could. They were really kind…

When you came to the hospital after the program, how was your experience in the hospital? Was it better than you expected?

I expected… I mean, I don’t know what to tell you, honestly, what I expected. I expected something to happen, but with all the stress I was under and everything… At some point, after reading and researching, I completely discarded the idea. I said, I won’t think about it anymore, whatever happens, happens. I was scared, but when I came here and it started, everything became easier.

Are you satisfied with how our team handled things after you completed the program? Are you satisfied with how our team is handling things now, in the post-program process?

Yes, of course, how could I not be. Whatever is needed, they really called us on the phone, informed us, and we arranged everything. There was nothing unclear for me, they called me, no problems at all. They leave messages and we organize things. They are truly kind. Whatever is needed, they are available.

Do you have any advice for women who are considering this program?

Everyone should try. Those who have the opportunity should really try. But really, you need to be strong and get through everything. My condition after the procedure is perfect. I mean, because just before the procedure, even though I felt bad, I was very exhausted, very sleepy, nervous, almost in a stressful state. So now, after the procedure, I am not stressed, I don’t feel sleepy. I’m full of energy. I don’t even need to sleep. Which is interesting because I used to like to sleep a lot. And now, after the exercises and everything they introduced me to, it’s not hard for me at all.

Considering I just had the procedure yesterday, I feel absolutely fantastic.

No pain, no scarring. Absolutely perfect. Because not only is it the procedure, it’s also the physical exercises that you’re given to do. My name is Daniela, I am 43 years old. We tried to stay in another state for 8 years. First, of course, we took the natural route. I had 9 IVF attempts before we came to Professor Ljubić.

Four doctors told me to look for an alternative, saying it was almost impossible for us to conceive. They told me this in Prague and London, and here, one doctor—even my friend—took my results to America to show her doctor, who had also treated her for in vitro fertilization.

He said at the time that, due to my hormonal status, the chances of me conceiving were 1 to 3 percent, and closer to 1 than 3. It was quite discouraging to hear such things, but I’m very grateful that when I came to Professor Ljubić, he didn’t give up on me.

I had complete trust in him and his work. When I would visit him, it felt like I gained a dose of confidence in everything we were doing. We learned about Professor Ljubić’s new procedure from the media, which involved rejuvenation of egg cells.

That’s how we first approached the professor, to inquire about it, as we were very interested. Naturally, we had read about it. We wanted to try everything in order to achieve a positive outcome.

Until then, all the procedures I had undergone were standard IVF cycles. When I met the professor, I was particularly drawn to his suggestion that we work with a natural cycle since hormonal therapy wasn’t effective on my ovaries. I was intrigued by the new method of egg cell rejuvenation.

I wanted to try it, just to see if we could achieve a positive result. The procedure itself was quite simple. I didn’t experience any negative effects at any point.

It was comfortable for me, and I believed in it. They supported me throughout the process. They were by my side as if they were experiencing my journey with me.

From the nurses to the embryologists, and of course, the professor. Considering that I had certain problems, such as autoimmune diseases (Hashimoto’s), hyperinsulinemia, and thrombophilia, I was also supported by an endocrinologist and a hematologist.

I felt like I was in safe hands, with an excellent team behind me who helped me through it all. I didn’t have to worry about anything. For the first time, I didn’t have to research online or think about what steps to take next.

I completely surrendered to the process and, of course, achieved a positive outcome after a year. The procedure involved collecting egg cells, which were frozen. Once we had collected three embryos, we proceeded with fertilization.

It was from that third attempt that I conceived, approximately a year after meeting the professor. My pregnancy went smoothly.

During the last two months of pregnancy, I had to be on bed rest because a spontaneous cycle had begun. I stayed with Professor Ljubić for everything, from the first attempts to the delivery. I had complete trust in him and didn’t want it any other way—I wanted to stay with him throughout the entire process.

Due to low AMH levels, which I believe worry many women, doctors had told me I probably wouldn’t be able to conceive and should look for an alternative. The professor suggested we try this method, and in the end, it paid off. We had a positive outcome.

We now have a little princess. Since that last attempt was successful, we have now started a new procedure with the same team. We would like to have another child, so our daughter can have a sibling one day.

Many might have ended their journey there, but since everything went so smoothly, we want to try again if possible.

I had the procedure yesterday. I checked in in the morning, and the team was very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. After I woke up, I was pretty "beyond myself" for about an hour...

My now-husband and I were at a stage in our lives when we started to plan for our future and to have children. I had contacted a couple of different gynecologists and obstetricians just to do a checkup and make sure everything was good and that there wasn’t anything I needed to work on. I just wanted to make sure we were ready to have kids. I was actually met with some shocking news and information when I went to these appointments, which were quite scary. After a 10-minute visit with one doctor, I was told I could always use donated cells, and I was terrified. I had no idea there were any issues. I felt fine. I was physically active, ate very healthy food, and really took care of my body.

A really close friend of mine told me about Professor Ljubić and his approach to infertility, or let’s call it, challenges with fertility. Actually, while we were doing these procedures and discussions, the very day I went to see the facility, I found out I was pregnant. I think there was just a block in my body that dropped, and things just started clicking.

I have a five-year-old boy—he’s the love of my life. After him, we did face a few more challenging situations with getting pregnant again. So, I contacted Professor Ljubić again, naturally. He told me about these new procedures he was doing. They weren’t new to him, but for me, they were the first time I had ever heard of them. It’s PRP treatments and rejuvenation using your own stem cells, which I really felt comfortable with. I wouldn’t have felt comfortable with using human growth hormones, either made in a lab or from another entity, not from my own body.

We started discussing the approach and the different information he needed from me. Obviously, when using human growth hormone or stem cells to increase your body’s production of whatever it is making—whether it’s good or bad—we wanted to make sure we were only increasing the good. So, we did a lot of research on my health status. We checked for possible tumor markers, tested for anything related to sugar, liver function, blood pressure, and any sort of health issues, including thrombosis in the family. We went far back into my family history to make sure I didn’t have any unknown genetic conditions. We prepared for the procedure.

It was a little daunting at first, but as the time got closer to the actual procedure, I felt more and more confident. I was skipping around, very happy and excited, as if someone was going to give me something amazing in this world. When I realized that this procedure was a gift to myself, I felt even more at peace. I have a wonderful child, who is my life, and I’m forever grateful for that one child. If more children come, that’s wonderful, but mainly, I’m focused on the health of my body, to be there for my son for as long as possible.

[Laughter] And that’s really the main reason why I went through this procedure: for the health of my body. I do have premature ovarian failure, and this procedure just gave me a little kickstart. It helps me avoid turning to medicine to keep my body in balance, and instead, I’m doing it in a very homeopathic way. I see it as homeopathy, really, because it’s from my body to my body.

Hi Anita. Welcome here today. Hello, as you have already heard, I am Anita Savić, I am 36 years old and I have come to talk to you about Segova program.

Thank you so much for being here. It’s interesting to start from the beginning. So, this is now your second child. When was your first pregnancy?
My first pregnancy happened when I was 30 years old, and that was when I first met the professor who guided me through the entire pregnancy.

What was the situation after that first delivery? Did any issues arise that made you return to the professor?
I continued visiting the professor for gynecological check-ups, but a few months after my first pregnancy, I experienced a complete hormonal imbalance.

And that’s when you began therapy with the professor?
Yes, we started therapy, but after 3–4 years, the professor suggested and discussed the Segova program with me, which was still in its early stages at that time. He said I might eventually be a candidate for it because hormonal therapies hadn’t succeeded in improving my condition.

So, your decision to participate in the Segova program was based on your hormonal situation and the desire to have a second child?
Yes, that’s correct. First and foremost, it was for my health, as my hormones were showing signs of premature menopause. Were the information and details you received clear? Did you read about the methods used in the program and follow all the recommendations regarding diet and exercise?
Yes, I followed everything exactly as instructed. I attended exercise sessions with an instructor and had the procedure in October 2019. My husband and I were completely on board with it.

How long does the Segova program last? How did you feel after the procedure, and what were your impressions of the hospital?
The program lasts three days. Before the procedure, of course, we were a little nervous and uncertain because it’s a serious operation. Previously, I had only undergone a C-section, which is shorter, but this procedure went very smoothly, and the recovery was similar to that after a C-section. I was discharged from the hospital the same day.
